Angel Luis Davila Vega, 18, of Dorchester, was found stabbed in an alley between a home and a Buddhist temple shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Bradeen Street.

He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died, Boston police said.

Police added that a knife was used during the attack, but a weapon had not been found as of Monday night, NBC Boston reported.

A resident who has lived in Roslindale for years told the station the "infamous" alleyway can be dangerous to walk at night.

“I’ve been up and down this alleyway for years, even as a child,” the resident said. “I can say it's not really the safest place to be at nighttime, especially not for someone like me who would be coming home, who uses this way to come home.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
